Joining Ginny today for her Yarn Along!
I cast on these Sword of Gryffindor Mitts this week, and I’m not going to lie, they are kicking but just a little bit. I kept messing up the lace pattern, and I was struggling with the placket until I read some helpful posts by some Ravelers that had figured out an error in the pattern. Confession: these might have have gone airborne once or twice before I found this.
The pattern is from a special Harry Potter issue of Interweave Knits that came out last fall, but you can download the issue off their website here. The yarn is the sumptuous Road to China Light in Hematite. This yarn is like buttah. I have used it for another project, and can’t say enough about how nicely it knits up. I picked it up the other day at my favorite place in the world, fibre space.
The book is the first in the Peter and the Starcatchers series. It tells the tale of how Peter Pan became Peter Pan. It’s a great series for fifth and sixth grade readers. It’s fast-paced, and the plot has lots of twists an turns that keep reluctant readers engaged. I definitely have added this to my classroom library wish list!
Beautiful, I have to do these for my son, who is a big Harry Potter fan 🙂
The whole issue is filled with awesome HP designs. Perfect for HP fan!
I love the yarn you are using. It looks very similar to what I am using in my Cedar Leaf Shawl. I had a couple of tantrums knitting that lately too!
Thank you! Glad I’m not alone!
bummer there was a mistake but now that you know I bet your needles are flying with the knitting going on!!! Love the color!
Thank you!
I loved that special issue. I want to make that lovely, long, lacy Bellatrix LeStrange cloak!
It is awesome!
the color is so pretty! If it wasn’t for other ravelers that have gone before and their helpful notes there are some patterns I would never gotten finished.
Thank goodness for Ravelers.
I know what you mean about airborne projects… some you just hit a wall! Glad you are figuring them out and the yarn looks beautiful. I have seen those books but never read them and didn’t even know the premise! They sound fun!
They are totally great. Definitely worth checking out!
I love your yarn.. gorgeous color. Best to you with your knit. No doubt they will be fabulous! Stopping by via Ginny..
