Our third graders shared some family traditions and their knowledge of functional formats a few weeks ago by hosting a Family Recipe Day.  Kids created a recipe of a favorite family dish, and then brought in the dish to share with their classmates.  We had everything from empanadas to subs, cookies to cakes.

Kids created signs to show off their dishes.

DSC_0302I took lots of shots of kiddos, but I don’t like to share photos of kids without their parents permission, so you’ll have to imagine all the gooey goodness dripping from their chins.  The kids did a great job trying new things and they seems so proud to be able to bring something special from their homes to share with their friends.
