A few weeks ago, our clan took a long road trip to the lovely Villages of Florida to clean out my dad’s place down there and prepare it for sale.  The temperatures on the trip were a little cooler than we had hoped, but it wasn’t DC, and we were going to make the best of it.  We took a day trip to Siesta Key, near Clearwater, Florida.  Apparently, it was ranked as one of the best beaches in the US, and we could see why.

The sand is like flour it is so fine.  You have to bring some think blankets because it just came right up through the sheets we brought.  The kids even made it into the water (which there are no pictures of, because I was not going in there).

My favorite shot of the day was of Gracie girl, of course, but I love the middle shot as well. Yes.  It’s a woman, in the water, wearing a parka, getting her photo taken.  I promise you, it wasn’t that cold.
